2018 Rhyolite

2018 Rhyolite

2018 Rhyolite

Our flagship wine and estate red blend, Rhyolite refers to the volcanic rock that makes up our soils, but it is so much more than that. This limited wine is the most emblematic to winemaker and proprietor, Timm Crull as it encompasses all of the grapes grown on the estate, including some of the oldest Zinfandel grapes still grown in the Napa Valley today.

The 2018 Rhyolite has an inviting deep purple hue with aromas of ripe blackberry, espresso, and violet. The rich palate offers mouth coating soft tannins with flavors of blackberry, rich dark cherry, and Rutherford dust mixed with hints of sweet baking spices. The smooth tannins wrap around your tongue like a nice cashmere sweater. Enjoy now or age for 10+ years.

  • Vineyard: Rhyolite refers to the volcanic rock that makes up our soils. The grapes are 100% estate grown using sustainable growing practices. The primary vineyard blocks are between 300 and 500 feet in elevation in the eastern foothills of Rutherford.
